  • Montanna "Tanna" Trapp

Genetic Specialist, Herdsman, and Inspiration Behind It All

Montanna Trapp affectionately known as Tanna, is the heart and original inspiration behind Trapped In Time Miniature Herefords. What began as a spark of curiosity at a livestock show in 2014 quickly turned into a deep passion for Miniature Herefords, and ultimately, a family-run operation centered around her dream.

Tanna received her first heifer, GF Trapped In September, in early 2015 and began her journey as a forth-generation showman and youth breeder. Since then, she has spent countless hours in the barn and on the road learning, growing, and earning recognition at shows across Texas and the country. From halter breaking to breeding decisions, Tanna plays a hands-on role in every part of the program.

A proud member of 4-H and FFA, Tanna has earned top honors in livestock judging, public speaking, and showmanship. Her creativity and resilience, especially navigating the show ring with dyslexia, led to the unique tradition of naming heifers after the months of the year, a practice that continues today and helps her connect even more deeply with the cattle she raises.

Beyond the show ring, Tanna’s leadership and determination reflect the values at the core of Trapped In Time. She continues to inspire youth in agriculture and plans to remain involved in the cattle industry as she pursues her next chapter at The University of Alabama, where she will major in Biology with a Pre-Med track.

Her legacy is not just in banners and ribbons, it’s in every calf born, every friendship formed, and every young person she encourages to chase their own dream.
